Design for Finance.
Financial design isn’t website design. Our apps rarely contain the photographs, widgets and eye-candy you’ll find on most website. Screen real-estate is at a premium and our users are geared towards performing functions; finding market research, placing trades, generating reports.
Our apps while complex are often needlessly complex. When designing for finance you can’t overlook the human element; how humans and content interact, how data is sifted, sorted, categorized, delivered and how it can be digested easiest by people. Making users go out and cherry pick various bits of information in large systems is difficult. Aggregating data, defining roles and delivering your content in context - is efficient, easy to use and enjoyable. I often hear ‘design for the lowest common denominator’ (design for stupid). However, I inherently believe that most people are endlessly capable when we give them the correct tools and chance.
One-way streets, where we only push data are quickly becoming dead ends. Two-way streets where users heavily interact with our data is better. Better still is a model that helps users ACT on our data. Be it through a network of peers (a closed social network is a close one), active filtering through lenses, trade history, or mashups. How well we accomplish this robust simplicity will determine how well our brand and products are received.
"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." - Leonardo da Vinci

Study, Evaluate, Evolve, Deliver.
Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works. (Jobs)Our focus is on creative prototyping for financial applications. Most of our work is generated in Photoshop, Illustrator and wireframes. We also have the capability to deliver HTML/Jquery/CSS that's ready to hand off to your development team, and style-guides to keep your application consistent as it grows.
We start with a quick NDA. Then phone call / WebEx to explore your project needs. We follow up with projected costs and rate sheet. After kickoff, we work with your stakeholders to capture project deliverables. Listen to your users to identify needs that have yet to be met, expose opportunities for competitive differentiation, and collaborate with your team to develop strategic roadmaps for improvement and innovation.
The evolution process consists of rolling the research and user / stakeholder feedback into a rapid prototyping cycle. It begins with wireframes of page layouts / navigation and ends with High-fidelity iterations you can shop around your team. After we have something you're comfortable with we go back to the users for hands-on testing and a further round of feedback before we move into the delivery phase.
No matter where we are in the world we work standard banking (EST) hours. We upload our latest work to Basecamp each morning so you can share with your team, comment and provide feedback. We also collaborate on InVision, Trello, Github, Slack, Skype and Line - or just pick up the phone and give us a call. We provide a fully interactive style guide so you can continue to evolve your app with our standards.
You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.Zig Ziglar

I'm Cire (pronounced:ˈsīrə) and I own Human Interface. After working in the financial sector in NYC for 8+ years I opened up a design shop in Singapore, in 2008. I now split my time between the cities, both have a LOT to offer.
My team varies depending on project load - I have team members in Argentina, Singapore and Thailand. I always try to source (and keep) the best talent, regardless of location. I act as a single point of contact, handling most meetings, client relations and the majority of the design work, some things you just can't outsource.
I rarely take on more than 6 clients a year - and 90% of my business comes from my network and word-of-mouth - I've never advertised. The financial arena is a small one. I do my best to keep my reputation up - and network growing.
